SOCIAL SECURITY

The world has changed a lot in more than 80 years and with it, the needs for Social Security have changed. We have the responsibility of updating Social Security according to the requirements of the 21st century so that we can fulfill the promise we have made to future generations. Estimates indicate that the program may pay full benefits for the next 16 years, but only about 75 percent after that.

As a member of the Lion Club International, I have participated in social activities that include glucose and eye screening. I have seen first-hand the needs of senior citizens in our community. I will fight to reduce the costs of prescription drugs and ensure that the benefits of Social Security for our older adults survive these times of uncertainty.
